We are now winding down from the 2010 TEMSEA conference held at the Park Vista Hotel in Gatlinburg Tennessee. It was an packed to the gills with terrific speakers from all corners of the United States bringing quality presentations to our educators in preparation for the next academic year.
As we continue to wind down from the 2010 conference period, we must look at the future and see that we are already looking forward to the 2011 conference that is being held on the western end of the state. The 2011 conference will be held at the Hilton in Memphis Tennessee and will continue to build on the experience and excitement with new speakers from local and abroad.
If you go to the www.tnemsea.com website, you will notice that there are already links available to 2010 conference material, to the hotel for the 2011 conference, and links to the awards that will be offered during the 2011 conference in Memphis.
Please take these next months to evaluate your educators and determine where they fall into the awards categories and develop an excellent awards package for the TEMSEA organization to review. As President Sanderson has said "if we don't recognize our people, who will?"
Stay safe!!!

National EMS Week
It is National EMS week again (16 May -22 May) and as providers, educators, and leaders alike we can step back and bask in the enjoyment of a highly rewarding profession. I am sure that if I was to speak to each and everyone of you, I would be hard pressed to find a single individual that can easily take the time to step back and enjoy anything, but I want you to look at this week and understand that through all the hard work, you are appreciated.
With the access of the internet system and hi-speed connections, we can easily utilize resources such as google, bing, and yahoo search engines to find out all the key action that is going on across the country, and maybe even some events in "your neck of the woods" (thanks Al Roker). Through the use of social networking site Facebook, we can actually see many of the appreciation events that are being planned on the national scene. Click here to see the facebook page, http://tinyurl.com/29taqm6. We can also look at the American College of Emergency Physicians website www.acep.org/pressroom.aspx?id=48405 where we see the launch of 2010 National EMS Week; "Anytime, Anywhere, We'll be There"
If you are a practioner, please thank your leaders and educators...if you are an educator, thank your students, if you are a leader please thank your providers. If it wasn't for all of us in this field we wouldn't be able to provide the high quality of service that our communities have come to know.
Don't forget to register for the 2010 TEMSEA conference this year being held at the Park Vista Hotel in Gatlinburg Tennessee. This event will be held from the 21st to 23rd of July and has a tremendous gathering of the industry experts to provide lectures, educational roll-out, and new instructor qualifications. Click on the www.tnemsea.com website site to start "Riding the High Seas of EMS Education"...see you in Gatlinburg.
